We build automations as scoped projects with one agreed price — and we build them on the OpenRed platform, the orchestration engine we created and run in production ourselves.
Projects
Every project runs through the same staged workflow — a free assessment call, a free written assessment, and an optional $250 roadmap with interface mockups — so by the time a build starts, the scope is written down, the mockups have been seen, and the price is a single fixed number with the roadmap credit already subtracted.
Every scoped build is one fixed fee, agreed before work starts. A fixed fee puts the estimation risk where it belongs: on us — if a build takes longer than we scoped, that is our cost, not yours. Hourly billing exists only for follow-on engagements after a project is delivered.
Development, testing against your real documents and data, human review steps wherever output touches your customers, side-by-side running until you trust it, training for your team, and documentation of what was built.
The automation runs in the cloud under your own accounts. No per-seat fees, no platform subscription, no lock-in. If we disappeared tomorrow, your automation would keep running.
The engine
Under every project is the OpenRed platform — an agentic orchestration layer we built from scratch and run in production every day. It is why our builds are faster to deliver and sturdier to run than one-off scripts or drag-and-drop workflow tools.
AI agents with defined roles do the work: workers gather data, analysts apply your business rules, validators check quality before anything moves forward. An orchestration layer coordinates them all and evaluates every step's output against the actual work product — garbage never flows silently downstream.
When a delivery fails or a data source changes shape, the system routes back and fixes it instead of stopping. Missed scheduled jobs are detected and re-queued automatically. No data loss, no silent failures, no babysitting.
Your deployment runs in the cloud under your own accounts and your own AI subscription — not metered through our platform. That means no per-task fees, no per-seat pricing, and your business data never routes through anyone else's product.
OpenRed was built to run a financial-data operation with dozens of scheduled jobs daily — gathering, analyzing, and delivering without human supervision. That production history is described in our case studies.
The result for you: most of a "custom build" already exists. Your project is the configuration of a proven engine around your workflows and rules — which is what makes fixed pricing possible at all.
Larger projects
Multi-department automation, many integrations, or systems that several teams depend on — the staged workflow still applies, with one change: the assessment becomes a project estimate.
We estimate the full project during the assessment and roadmap stages, then commit to a fixed fee for the defined scope — same principle as a small build, applied to a bigger one. Scope changes are priced as their own fixed additions, never as an open meter.
Hourly never applies to a scoped build. It exists for what comes after one: your project is delivered, and you want more — new workflows, extensions, an engineer on tap. That follow-on work is either re-estimated as its own new fixed fee, or run as an hourly engagement, such as a six-month contract, when you'd rather work continuously than scope each piece.
Not sure which fits? That's what the free call decides. See the worked examples in our case studies for how project scope translates to price and savings.
